أُحذّر من الخطر المتزايد بفقدان جيلٍ كامل في قطاع غزة المحاصر والمدمّر، حيث يشهد النظام التعليمي حالة من «الانهيار» بعد عامين من الحرب.
هذا هو العام الثالث بدون مدرسة. إذا لم نضمن عودة حقيقية للتعلم لجميع الأطفال بحلول شهر فبراير، فسندخل عاماً رابعاً، وعندها سنكون فعلاً أمام جيل ضائع.»
مع دخول وقف إطلاق النار حيّز التنفيذ في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر، تمكنت اليونيسف وشركاؤها في قطاع التعليم من «إعادة نحو سُدس الأطفال الذين يفترض أن يكونوا في المدارس إلى مساحات تعلم مؤقتة.»
يواجه الأطفال والمعلمون أيضًا صعوبات متواصلة في التنقل بسبب النزوح والعمليات العسكرية، بينما ينشغل معظم المعلمين بتأمين الطعام والماء لعائلاتهم.
كيف يمكن تأهيل الصفوف من دون إسمنت؟ نحن نحتاج أيضًا إلى الحد الأدنى من الدفاتر والكتب والأدوات والقرطاسية.
الغذاء مسألة بقاء، لكن التعليم هو الأمل.
تأثرت بشدة بإصرار المجتمع في غزة على إعادة تنظيم حياته، وإزالة الركام، وإعادة فتح المتاجر الصغيرة، ومحاولة استعادة بعض مظاهر الحياة.
صُدمت من حجم الدمار، يصعب تصور أن 80% من قطاع غزة قد سُوِّي تقريبًا بالأرض، ولم يبقَ سوى جيوب صغيرة من المباني هنا وهناك.
تم تدمير أو إخراج 85% من المدارس عن الخدمة، في حين أن العديد من المدارس المتبقية تُستخدم كملاجئ للنازحين.

أُستشهد أكثر من 20،058 طالباً وأصيب 31،139 آخرون منذ بدء العدوان الإسرائيلي على قطاع غزة والضفة الغربية في 7 تشرين الأول/أكتوبر 2023.
أُستشهد 148 طالباً في الضفة الغربية، وأصيب 1،042، واعتُقل 846 طالب.
